Garden Landscapes in Mixed Media on Paper - Exploring Colour and Pattern
In this workshop you will respond to the wonderful natural landscape at Lund.
Looking for colour combinations, pattern and rhythms in the landscape, woods and hedgerows, using a variety of mixed media including resists, pastels, watercolour, inks and crayons to create lively spontaneous sketchbook studies you will then translate these into more considered paintings in the studio, capturing the energy and characteristics of the direct observation. Tessa will demonstrate her process and techniques for different media, the use of collage, and the possibilities of abstract compositions.
Lunches and refreshments included.

About Tessa
Tessa Pearson ARWA is a painter and printmaker living in the Surrey Hills, south of London. She graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MDesRCA in Printed Textile design, winning the Courtauld prize, and had a successful career selling hand painted fabrics all over the world from her London studio and gallery.
Transferring her skills Tessa now uses printmaking and water-media as her preferred mediums, working exclusively on paper creating colourful abstract prints and silkscreen monotypes. Her influences have been many, from Matisse to Hodgkin and the bold colourists of mid twenty-first century painters Patrick Heron and Albert Irvin. Known for her exceptional use of colour, recent work is from studies of patterns and colour experienced in inspirational gardens both her own, and from her travels in Morocco, and interpreted in her very recognisable style.
Tessa exhibits widely at art fairs and galleries in the UK and internationally, having work selected for prestigious exhibitions including the Royal Watercolour Society Opens and the Royal West of England Academy Print Open. She recently won the Zillah Bell Gallery award at Printfest 2023 and is an elected Associate Member of the Royal Watercolour Society.
